[Imperfect Makeup + Boxy Silhouettes]

Packing and preparing for meetings across LA take a majority of my time the night before and the morning of because I am tirelessly compulsive when it comes to the items I need before heading out the door. I always like to bring a fresh bag of clothes to change into, select jewelry, hair spray, makeup, and tons of shoes. Why? Because I just never know where my day might take me! This leaves little to no time for the makeup part of my morning routine. So, I usually skimp on the additional highlighting portion and blush and grab for my trusty eyeliner by Stila, my YSL TOUCHE Γ‰CLAT concealer, and my L'Oreal Voluminous mascara. And yes, sometimes my eyeliner isn't completely tight-lined but a quick smudging action with my finger and some Q-tips usually do the trick so it looks more intentional. Ha!

(Yes, that's dirt on my elbow! Oops! Haha. Getting in touch with my city there.) Life in the city makes you grab for things that are easily portable, breathable, and functional so it's easy to wear on-the-go. Something simple is always a good bet. Less is more! Boxy silhouettes are one of my favorite trends for S/S 2014 and I was so excited to have found this A.P.C. blouse because not only did it have the boxy silhouette I loved, but also it has a denim-esque quality that is a dream for styling. (Denim goes with everything!) The floral cut-outs give it some lightness that's perfect for spring and it's just subtle enough. The lines of a boxy silhouette are incredibly flattering for any body type and immediately creates a put-together look without the weight of a jacket. No jackets allowed in spring, unless it's a kimono. Be free!

Don't forget to enter to win these Lola shorts by Love Junkee! Giveaway ends this Saturday so get your entries in! (See giveaway rules here.) Quick side note: I have to admit... I've been kind of addicted to these shorts lately. Nothing else beats the LA heat quite like some denim cut-offs. Summer come faster!
