A Touch of Blush

This past weekend, my friend Ben and I caught up with coffee and mega-chocolate chip cookies from Intelligentsia. If you have a sweet tooth, you have to try their cookies. Simply amazing. Cookie and coffee mission accomplished, we ventured out to my backyard, Venice, and started having some fun shooting. First stop: Abbot Kinney. One of reasons why I love Abbot Kinney so much is that they have perfected what a Sunday should be like every week. They have the best brunch spots, boutiques, and flea markets. I always love finding little trinkets at the Venice flea market-- all the pieces are hand-made so it looks and feels special when you wear them.

I've always been a huge fan of blush but I've never thought to pair it as a skirt. The peekaboo quality of the light color and material of this dress feminizes what would normally be a dark look. I've worn this dress with similar palettes but contrasting this airy color with something harsh makes for something chic. I'm pretty excited about this discovery. Can you tell?
